Herrick Library second-hand bookstore solves the holiday dilemma

Christmas Day is less than 10 days away. I have been buying gifts since October. Yet there are still some goodies on my shopping list. At this point in the season, there are few free time windows in my mom’s work schedule for local shopping. There are few great finds online that can be dispatched in time for the 25th. As usual, I’m struggling at the 11th hour to find the perfect gift for people who already have everything they need.

The Book Nook used book store on the lower level of the Main Library has just what I need to complete the holiday shopping. The Book Nook offers used books for sale, many of which are like new. I find an adult pop-up book that will suit the grandma who loves to make paper. My family’s art history lover might appreciate the handful of beautiful oversized art books I could buy for a song. The Spanish immersion niece and the nephew studying abroad could use the Spanish picture books and chapter book I find. I’m even rounding out the stocking stuffer list with several popular new adult fiction and non-fiction titles.

The Book Nook used book store operated by the Friends of Herrick District Library helped me complete my holiday shopping. If you’re in a similar position looking for last minute freebies, a visit to the store can help you find the perfect thing, too. Look for the bookstore on the lower level of the main library. Hurry? Visit the self-service basket of materials for sale on the main level of the Main Library or North Branch. Christmas is coming. It’s great to have all of the gifts checked off the list so that I can focus on the light, love, and celebration to come.
