Singapore Art Book Fair will be held from April 29 to May 1


The Singapore Art Book Fair (SGABF) will take place at the Singapore Art Museum (SAM) from April 29 to May 21.

Held from 12pm to 8pm daily, the fair celebrates a wide range of contemporary art books and zines.

Each edition showcases innovative contemporary works by exhibitors from Singapore and around the world. These exhibitors include artists, designers, small presses, institutions, galleries, zinemakers and printmakers.

SGABF 2022 is the largest edition of the show to date with a total of 93 exhibitors, 35 of them are from other countries like Australia, Brazil, Estonia, Germany and more. Some familiar local names in the range include Singapore NTU Center for Contemporary Art, Asian Cinematheque and Hoko workshop.

Along with a wide variety of exhibitors, the fair also features the SG Art Book Dialogue, a series of book launches, talks and artist talks held over the three days of the fair.

Attendees will be able to hear about the importance of art books and zines exhibited by the creators themselves.

Notable discussions include Reshaping Love Island: Reality TV and Experimental Edition with Every Press presented by Brendan Page from a experimental Risograph press run by artistsand a discussion about the book non-binarypresented by the author, Aki Hassan.

Online booking is required to secure a space to attend these programsbecause only 50 people are allowed per session.

The SGABF also includes the Singapore Art Book Librarywhich exists as a physical pop-up and an online resource for showcase art books that address socio-political concerns in Singapore and around the world until May 4.

The fair is free and open to visitors without an appointment, although organizers remind visitors not to linger long inside the exhibition hall, as there are still capacity limitations at the site.
