Biggest Tattoo Art Collaboration, The Real Inked Project, Announces Kickstarter-Exclusive Poker Card Deck and Art Book Release
BERLIN, GERMANY, June 16, 2022 /EINPresswire.com/ — The Real Inked project has undoubtedly pushed the boundaries of the art world by bringing together 52 tattoo artists from different parts of the world to ink 52 playing cards on 52 models. In a related development, the project announced the launch of its art book and poker card game, created by a collaboration of 100 people around the world, via a crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter.
“The real inked cards are a great opportunity to show that art is important in difficult times,” said Marijan Jordan, who along with her partner, Gerhard Muthenthaler, came up with the idea for the real inked project.
Art is generally described as a means of self-expression and tattooing has become increasingly popular across the world with more and more people tattooing different parts of the body for various reasons. However, Berlin-based art-loving duo Jordan and Muthenthaler are looking to raise the bar, collaborating with others around the world to create an unprecedented artistic partnership.
The Real Inked project has 52 tattoo artists from Beijing to New York and Reykjavik to Rio de Janeiro working together on a special piece of art. The idea started just before the pandemic, which hit the tattoo scene following restrictions and other measures to curb the spread of the virus. Known for coming up with “crazy ideas,” Jordan and Muthenthaler leveraged their strong network of working with inventors, artists, and startups to create the first-of-its-kind artistic collaboration.
Described as “the most painful deck of cards ever inked”, the deck was first tattooed before the eventual transformation into an actual playable deck of poker cards. Each card in the game has been tattooed by an artist on a model anywhere in the world, with a high resolution photo taken and made into a digital file for printing the card. The sleek art book, which is part of the project, offers background stories, history and information on all the artists involved in the Real Inked project.
The #realinkedcardschallenge has also been launched to help identify the enthusiastic artist to apply for the Joker card, the only final card to be given to an artist and a model.
The card game and art book are available exclusively on Kickstarter, with several benefits for backers around the world.
