Tune in to the 2021 Vancouver Art Book Fair digital fair, October 18-26 – Scout Magazine


Notice to art lovers, word enthusiasts, book enthusiasts and publication enthusiasts: Vancouver Art Book Fair returns from October 18 to 26 for its second digital edition, on the occasion of the 10 years of VABF.

It’s time, once again, to celebrate the art of publishing in all its forms – think DIY zines, digital publications, printed art books and more quirky, out-of-the-box applications – with nine days of online events, including talks and artist projects. Regarding the milestone of the decade of the Fair, this year’s programming, organized by Eloisa Aquino (from Montreal B&D press) revolves around the theme of “Stories”, interpreted and sold on the sidelines. As usual, all events are completely free and virtually accessible to the public.

Exhibitors and presenters at this year’s fair will represent local communities of publications, collections and artist / makers, while providing a diverse global perspective (Alberta, Toronto, United States, Mexico, l (Argentina, South Korea and West Africa are all represented throughout the program). Although participants are still not able to physically coming together under one roof – and the digital world, arguably, cannot replace the tactility of the real print experience – the VABF 2021 digital trade fair remains strong, providing a channel for connectivity, conversation and invaluable inspiration.
